Current Opinion in Cellular Host-Pathogen Interactions
A Current Opinion in Cell Biology conference
September 5 – 7, 2010, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Current Opinion in Cellular Host-Pathogen Interactions is the first in a new and exciting series of conferences sponsored by the timely and popular Current Opinion journals. These conferences provide a new level of direct interaction between the leaders in the scientific field and the attending delegates. Emphasis will be placed on latest unpublished results, extended discussion periods and direct interactions with leaders in the field. No more sitting through long talks with very little time for discussion; each conference is designed to facilitate extended discussion periods with dedicated networking sessions. And, the experience does not end with the closing remarks; delegates have the option to sign up for an ongoing online conference where they can review lectures and interact with colleagues in a discussion forum.

The first Current Opinion Conference is dedicated to host-pathogen interactions. The conference will cover all areas of molecular and clinical research within this topic including pathogen invasion, adaptation, host defense, pathogen life cycle and immune system response. Do not miss the opportunity to meet and discuss this rapidly developing field with pre-eminent scientific leaders! Register and/or submit your paper today!

Call for Papers

Abstracts are invited by 16 April, 2010 for oral and poster presentation of original research on the following topics:

  • Life cycle of pathogens (viruses, bacteria and unicellular eukaryotes)
  • Strategies used by pathogens to invade organisms and cells
  • Mechanisms that allow pathogens to survive within organisms and cells
  • Strategies used by pathogens to spread throughout the organism
  • Host defense against pathogens

Why attend the conference?

  • Showcase your research to the leading scientists in the field, including the influential Current Opinion editors
  • Meet the Section Editors and find out how to become a Current Opinion author
  • Meet and learn from the leading researchers and educators from around the world

About the Supporting Journal
The Supporting Journal

The Current Opinion journals were developed out of the recognition that it is increasingly difficult for specialists to keep up to date with the expanding volume of information published in their subject. In Current Opinion in Cell Biology, we help the reader by providing in a systematic manner:

  • The views of experts on current advances in Cell Biology in a clear and readable form
  • Selections of the most interesting papers from the great wealth of original publications, annotated by experts.
